UPDATE 7 : DECEMBER 2004
December 2004 and a return to label activity. Its been a good two year
hiatus while concentrating and developing the distribution business -
building , employing and travelling about the place. Life in the Yellow
Eye Music sluglane almost picks up to a trot over the rest of the year
with a number of new releases (predominantly on the jazz side). For release
in conjunction with the Wellington International Jazz Festival held in
late October we have two releases.

021 - THE NORMAN MEEHAN QUINTET: THE BELLS
A
debut from this Wellington based quintet formed around pianist Norman
Meehan (head of the Massey University School of Jazz in Wellington). A
first for the label with piano to the fore. Featuring the C L BOB rhythm
section of Tim Jaray on Double Bass and Steve Cournane drums, along with
Lucien Johnson sax and flute, Nick Van Dijk trumpet and trombone. Keep
an eye out for more releases from Norm in the future. "A well played
collection of seductive original material with a subversive edge"

022 TRANS TASMAN COMPILATION
The
past twenty years has seen an amazing flowering of creative musical talent
on both sides of the Tasman, ample evidence of which is heard throughout
this CD. Although the main focus on this recording is on Kiwi music and
musicians, celebrating the creative music community is really at the heart
of this CD, no matter where the musicians heard here may choose to live
and work.

Lastly
on the go , to be finalised the long lost but now found CLBOB 3rd Album
Wireless currently being edited ready for mastering, thats been about
3 years on the go. Also another attempt at getting the TARDIS album featuring
Dallas from Fat Freddy's Drop on vocals off the ground, also Age Pryor
and Warren from Trinity Roots to the fore but hey we were trying to do
that in the last lot of news back in July 2002!! Also a project by a piano
trio THE MANTARAYS featuring cl bob drummer Steve Cournane as recorded
on a Carribean cruise trip which has a rather nifty latin version of the
Herbs classic 'Nuclear Waste' among others. All for now bring on the light
and the southern summer we say from the bottom of the world.
